New Toys

Lots of new “toys” installed on my computer. I loaded the new Adobe CS4 this week mainly due to the improvements in Flash that I need for University assignments. Also bought myself a present shown here. Photographic Edges by AutoFX. Its way better than the old version and much faster, should be lots of fun.

Days Like These

From time to time I complain and grumble with the family about the extra cost and time we spend commuting from home on Magnetic Island to work and school in Townsville.

On days like these I can’t think of a better place in the world to live. This creek with waterfalls and swimming holes is just over the back fence and up in the local mountains. I spent several hours there yesterday playing in the water, photographing and exploring with my boys Dylan, Sascha and Milo.

It makes all that time spent commuting on the ferry well worth it…this is really living the dream.

Wet Season

We just made it home from Sydney on the last available barge to Magnetic Island. No boats going to Townsville today due to the wind and rain. With massive high tides and waves the Picnic Bay jetty has taken a pounding and waves are washing over the road between Nelly and Picnic. I just love this weather and it gives me a nice excuse to have a quiet one at home.

Holidays are over

Well the holidays are over and its back to my studio. Lots of albums to finish from last year and time to start planning the new year. We opened the APPA traveling exhibition in Northtown Townsville last night with a small but fun crowd. Some amazing photos got gold awards from last years entry’s.

I added to this post the image of Karen and Chris with parasol for no special reason other than I like it…so why not. It was shot on Magnetic Island (home) near Townsville last year.

Art In The Environment

A recent commission for some local artists called “Art In The Environment”. Works were created in Nth Qld for a traveling exhibition starting next year. The exhibition will consist of 2m wide prints of the instillations shot by various photographers in the region. These ones I shot at home on Magnetic Island.

Tony’s hut was a bit of a laugh. He spent a long time working on it and had no idea if it would actually float. It’s even registered as a boat and on the evening of the launch I took the dogs for a walk and noticed the police having a good look at it out on the water and scratching their heads.

Someone suggested it should stay in the harbor and Blue on Blue could use it as their honeymoon suite LOL.

I shot these images of Felia on the weekend at Horseshoe Bay. She’s moving to Perth soon and keen to do some modeling over there. I can’t believe she is only 13, keeps a few rats as pets and plays fantastic flute. I gave her some piano lessons a few years ago but unfortunately we didn’t get very far. I think she will do really well in Perth and should be able to get some modeling gigs.
